10 Reasons for Nexus 7 Defeating Kindle Fire

Posted by Unknown Selasa, 18 Desember 2012 0 komentar
According to an analytical article published by eWeek, Amazon's Kindle Fire tablet sold very well during the Christmas holiday last year. However, its sales volume dropped after that period. And now Kindle Fire is challenged by a potential competitor-Google's Nexus 7. Nexus 7 will compete with Kindle Fire in terms of price and size of display screen. The followings are 10 reasons for Google's Nexus 7 defeating Amazon's Kindle Fire.

1. Design, An Essential Factor.
Compared with the design quality of Nexus 7, Amazon's Kindle Fire is inferior to it. Amazon designed its Kindle Fire in an ordinary way in that it wanted to reduce its price. Yet, Google manages to reduce the price of Nexus 7 without sacrificing its external appearance and aesthesis, which comforts consumers.

2. Parameter of Price
When Kindle Fire first came into the market last year, it showed its price value by selling $199 only. However, with the improvement on devices, its value dropped. Currently, consumers know that the price for the product is reasonable, yet Nexus 7 can also be sold at this price. Apart from this, Kindle Fire needs improving.

3. The Price of $199 Makes No Difference to Some Consumers
When Google's Nexus 7 priced $249 came to the market, some people are worried about its feasibility. But that's not the case. The Nexus 7 in the price of $199 caters to those consumers who want to buy a cheap one. But the 16GB version of Nexus 7, costing more than $50 than the former, is out of stock. Google Play Store says that the 16GB version of Nexus 7 has been sold out. Maybe it is not a bad idea for Google to sell its Nexus 7 in a higher price than that of Kindle Fire, more than $50.

4. A Powerful Tegra 3 Processor
Google's Nexus 7 is installed with a quad-core Tegra 3 processor. This processor has high performance and reliability that most of manufacturers haven't developed. Consumers know clearly that Nexus 7 is more powerful that Kindle Fire.

5. A New Operating System
Another advantage Nexus 7 has is its latest Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) operating system. This means that consumers can get a tablet with the latest and most powerful capacity supported by Android. The price of $199 is, indeed, very low. Kindle Fire, however, falls behind due to its shortage of the latest software.

6. Google's Marketing Ability
Google is very keen on marketing its own products. It finds a proper method in marketing its products, which makes it dominate the field of searching, strengthens its advertisement and enables Android to take the lead among its competitors. Nexus 7 benefits the most from Google's marketing strength. Amazon, however, doesn't have the marketing ability as powerful as Google's, and that is the case with its tablets.

7. More Familiar Software Experience
Amazon earns compliment because it adopted the standard Android to be its own operating system. However, considering the success of Nexus7, consumers are likely to expect smartphone being installed with Android system. In the field of tablet PCs, more familiar experience tends to win out.

8. Never Forget Smartphone
Although this problem is always ignored, the main point is that the success of tablets contributes to a new and powerful smartphone. In most cases, consumers will buy smartphones first. If they like them, they will buy a tablet matching the smartphone. If not, they will buy other products. Yet, Amazon doesn't have its own smartphone, while Google does. This is where the problem lies in.

9. Does Kindle Brand Make Effect?
Things may go contrary to Amazon's wishes as it named its tablet Kindle Fire?. Kindle Brand is famous for Ebook reader, while Google's Nexus brand is relevant to mobile devices of high quality. Brand is of great importance. Yet, it seems that Amazon neglect this aspect.

10. Brands of the Two Companies
Here refers to the difference between Amazon and Google. Amazon is famous for retailing with its other aspects no so popular; Google is famous as a searching and advertising company who has been the synonyms for mobile products. The difference assists Google to promote its attraction but strikes Amazon's products instead.

Where to Buy Google Nexus 7 Tablet

Buy cheapest Nexus 7 online. Best Google Nexus 7 sales and deals online.
The Nexus 7 is an Android tablet computer co-developed by Google and Asus, the first tablet entry in the Nexus series. The Nexus 7 is a 7-inch tablet, primarily competing with similar devices such as the Nook Tablet, Kindle Fire and the Blackberry Playbook.
The Nexus 7 will be shipped with the latest version of Android 4.1, codenamed Jelly Bean. Additionally, it will ship with Chrome as its web browser.

Buy Nexus 7. The 10.45-mm thick tablet, weighs only.74 pounds and is very easy to hold up in one hand. You'll want to check out our guide to tablet sizes -- but the 7-inch size is really best for one-handed use and reading while lying down. And despite its small size, the tablet still lasts long on a charge; the tablet lasts two days of on and off use before needing a charge.
So, you've got your shiny new Google Nexus 7 in the mail and, after watching the lackluster "Transformers" movie that was included with the purchase, you're looking for something interesting to do with the 7-inch tablet. Why not transform your Nexus 7 into an automotive toolkit that helps you get from point A to B safely and can entertain you along the way?
Okay, I'm sure that a number of you are already rolling your eyes and shouting something about distracted driving, which is a genuine concern. I don't see how the 7-inch Nexus 7 could be any more of a distraction than the 7-inch Magellan RoadMate 9055-LM that I recently reviewed. The Nexus 7's lack of an always-on data connection should remove the temptation to check your e-mail, but, yes, slapping a tablet onto your dashboard will require quite a bit of self-control on your part to resist undue distraction. With that caveat in mind, let's get started.
Now, it's time for the fun part: picking your dashboard apps! Depending on your needs, there are apps for navigation, audio playback, and a number of other functions that could come in handy behind the wheel of a car.
The built-in Google Maps app seems like the obvious navigation choice thanks to its newfound ability to cache map data for offline use. However, it does have its drawbacks. For starters, you can only plan a trip while connected to the Internet. Once you're under way, Google Maps can continue routing and even handle simple rerouting of missed turns, but you'll need to be in range of a Wi-Fi hot spot at the beginning of every trip, somewhat limiting the usefulness of this app.
The Nexus 7 with 16GB of storage reappeared "in stock" Wednesday on the Google Play store after it was unavailable on the site and in many retail stores in the U.S. for about a week.
Google launched its Nexus 7 tablet at its Google I/O conference in San Francisco.
A Google spokeswoman said Friday that the 16GB version selling for $249 would come back soon to Google Play, but didn't indicate a date. It wasn't immediately clear when the site began re-selling it, and Google didn't respond to a request to comment. The Google Play site says it will take three to five business days to deliver the 16GB version.
The 8 GB version, selling for $199, has been available on Google Play since the Nexus 7 went on sale July 13. In addition to shortages on Google Play, the 16GB version is still listed as on "back order" at GameStop, and for sale "in store only" with a special order at Staples. Various retailers said they had trouble meeting demand for the larger-capacity Nexus 7 nearly from the start of sales.
Gabe Donnini, a data solutions engineer for Chitika Insights, said Google's restock of the 16 GB version didn't come as a surprise. Chitika runs an online advertising network and has been providing monthly measurements of Web usage with various tablet computers in North America.
Chitika found that when the Nexus 7 was released, the tablet "experienced a jump in [Web] usage that has not been seen outside of the iPad."
The Nexus 7 is Google's first foray into selling a tablet under its own brand. It's currently available for pre-order from Google Play, the company's online store, with customer deliveries expected to begin next week. It costs $199 for a model with eight gigabytes of storage, same as the Kindle, or $249 for 16 gigabytes.
The device is manufactured by Taiwan-based Asustek, and Google chose its partner wisely. Asus makes some of the prettiest tablets and personal computers this side of Apple, and the Nexus 7 is as attractive and smooth as the Kindle Fire is chunky and clunky.
At 7.8 inches tall and 4.7 inches wide, the Nexus 7 is compact enough to slide into a jacket pocket. A rubbery, textured back makes it easy to grip. Like the Kindle Fire, it works only over a Wi-Fi connection; while the screens are the same size, the Nexus 7's has a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, compared to the Kindle Fire's 1024 x 600.
Google pretty clearly seems to be going after Amazon with the way it's structured the out-of-the-box Nexus 7 experience. The tablet comes with a full-screen interactive view of your "library" content on its main home screen; touching the widget brings up all of your book, movie, TV, and magazine purchases.
One screen over, you have widgets showing recommended media content and applications in the Google Play Store, based on both your own friends' pluses (assuming you use Google Plus) and what's popular with "similar users."
Look, for all its drawbacks, where Amazon succeeded with its Kindle Fire was in making the device dead-simple to use: Anyone, whether geek or technophobe, could pick up the product and figure out how to view and buy content at a second's glance. The Nexus 7 accomplishes the same kind of goal.
Here's the difference, though: Amazon created a locked-down ecosystem built around its e-commerce goals. Google made e-commerce a core part of the default Nexus 7 setup -- but it's a part you can just as easily move beyond.

Nexus 7 16GB Tablet Is on Google Play Store

The Nexus 7 with 16GB of storage reappeared "in stock"  in the Google Play online store after it was unavailable there and in many retail stores in the U.S. for about a week.
A Google spokeswoman said that the 16GB version, selling for $249, would come back soon to Google Play, but didn't indicate a date. It wasn't immediately clear when the site began selling it once again, and Google didn't respond to a request for comment. The Google Play site says it will take three to five business days to deliver the 16GB version.

The 8GB version, selling for $199, has been available on Google Play since the Nexus 7 went on sale July 13.

Gabe Donnini, a data solutions engineer for Chitika Insights, said Google's restock of the 16GB version didn't come as a surprise. "The company was expending a lot of effort into making sure that they could meet consumer demand," he said. "The shortage was never projected to be a long-term issue."
Chitika runs an online advertising network and has been providing monthly measurements of Web usage by users of various tablet computers in North America.
Chitika found that when the Nexus 7 was released, the tablet "experienced a jump in [Web] usage that has not been seen outside of the iPad."
In a blog, Chitika wrote that the Nexus 7 posted "impressive" Web usage across the Chitika Ad Network, "particularly for a device which has only been widely available for such a short period of time."
The iPad far exceeds other tablets in terms of total Web usage, accounting for 91% of tablet-based Web traffic. Among all the other tablets, the Samsung Galaxy Tab has the largest share, followed in order by the Acer Iconia, the Barnes & Noble Nook, the Toshiba Thrive, the Asus Transformer, the BlackBerry PlayBook, Amazon's Kindle Fire, the Motorola Xoom, and then the Nexus 7. The Nexus 7 accounted for 0.33% of the Web usage by non-iPad tablets during the week of July 16 to 22, Chitika said.
"I'd look for the Nexus 7 to establish a leading presence among Android-powered tablets by the end of 2012," Donnini added in an email.
