HOW TO DUAL-BOOT ANDROID AND WINDOWS (IN ONE COMPUTER -- INSTALLING ANDROID OPERATING SYSTEM ALONGSIDE EXISTING WINDOWS ON A PC)

Requirements: 

• Android ISO file: Android 4.2 Jelly Bean (Download Here)

•  UnetBootin (Download Here)

•  A flash disk of 1GB and above  

   

   

   

   

   

   

 Procedure:

1. Place your flash disk in your PC and format it to FAT32

2. Launch Unetbootin

3. Choose Android ISO file and USB Drive letter (Choose drive letter carefully) and click OK for unetbootin to write ISO to flash disk

4. Now it’s time to reboot BUT make sure your computer is set to boot from USB first!!

5. You should be able to see a unetbootin blue screen showing you options on whether you want to test or install Android

6. At this point, you can choose to test Android without installation or scroll down to install permanently on hard disk. We shall install permanently in this procedure.

7. Select the last option and you will see a menu showing you options of the partitions on which to install Android.

8. Choose the second or third partition.

9. Now choose ntfs format and click OK

10. IN THIS STEP, CLICK SKIP SO THAT WE DO NOT FORMAT THE PARTITION!! REMEMBER WE WANT TO RETAIN WINDOWS AND DO A DUAL-BOOT. WE WANT TO KEEP WINDOWS INTACT!!

11. You will be asked whether you want to install boot loader GRUB. Click YES

12. You asked whether you want to create a boot item for windows found on that partition. Click YES!!

13. You will be asked whether you want to install /system directory as read-write. Click NO!!

14. You will be asked whether you want to create a disk image. Click YES and select the size you want. I prefer maximizing it. You will notice that the larger its size, the larger the internal memory once installation is done.

15. Now run Android 

    

The display you see next is how Android Tablets start when it’s the first time its turned on. That is the Android we want. The following steps should be a walk over.

Once you are inside, you may want to turn off that PC using the right procedure. Go to SETTINGS and scroll down to POWER OFF. Click on it and then click OK to shut down.

Now remove the Flash disk and restart your PC. You will notice that Android will decide whether you choose to go to Windows or automatically start Android. If you delay selection for 5 second (that if you wanted to go to Windows) it will automatically start Android.

Once into Android, hold the padlock icon with your cursor and slide it to the side into the circle around it to unlock it.

That it. You now have a computer that runs Android and Windows. Enjoy.
