Google recently launched its new tablet The Nexus 10. It is a 10.1 -inch tablet that is said to be different in relation to its design including factors like processor and battery. The Nexus comes in 16GB ($399) and 32GB ($499) of storage forms. Apart from this let us find out how the Nexus 10 is different and what all it contains.
Design and Form
When it comes to defining the design of Nexus 10 it may seem similar to that of Samsung tab.
The overall design consists of a plastic like finish that makes it look more like a utility product. This is what makes it stand apart from other tablets that are sleeker and have a metal like finishing. Nevertheless, the maximum pricing of this tablet is $499 (32GB) which is comparatively still better than iPad that offers only 16GB at the same cost. Other things like the casing of this tablet is rubber like that makes it easier to grip and cushion the device nicely. Weighing 1.3 lb. the Nexus 10 measures 0.35-inches in thickness; it is light and comparatively sleeker than the one offered by Apple 1.44 lb. (0.37 in). The best feature of Nexus is the striking display (2560-x-1600-pixel) and a 10.1-inch screen with 300PPI, all these features combined together makes it the highest resolution tab available. However, comparing its resolution to iPad with 264ppi and a resolution of 2048 x 1536, it clearly indicates that Nexus is far better.
Even after using the Gorilla Glass 2 on its screen to avoid scratch Google the touch sensitivity is not compromised. The display and clarity are immaculate that makes the viewing experience a delight. Those who love streaming videos or watching movies on their tables will enjoy it more. Additionally, front mounted stereo speakers enhance the audio experience of a user.
Other things include headphone jack of 3.5mm is located at the left hand side with a micro-USB port. The power and volume buttons are located at far top left corner of the tablet. The right hand side of the tablet has an HDMI port (Micro). Nexus 10 also has a magnetic port for charging.
A placeholder is located in the peel off panel for attaching cover to the device. The cover serves a dual purpose of protecting the device as well as supporting it for easy use along with an additional power switch.

Powered with a dual-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz (Samsung Exynos 5250) it has a 2GB RAM and Android 4.2 OS version. This facilitates in smooth downloads and faster navigation. You can effortlessly carry on with multi-tasking without any performance lag. Browsing is a good experience with Chrome the performance is flawless.
The Nexus is backed with a powerful battery of 9000mAh that allows a 9-hour continuous video streaming and a browsing experience of 7 hours (500 hrs standby). If you are a frequent traveler then you can easily get away with few days of moderate browsing and usage. The storage is the only drawback it seems to have; with 32GB you get 28GB storage space. You cannot expand the memory as the device is not inclusive of SD card slot.
The Nexus 10 includes dual cameras, out of which one is a front-mounted 1.9 MP camera (720P) for capturing decent self-shot images and video chat. The other is a back camera that is powerful 5MP with HD 1080p for recording videos and capturing pictures.
This device is powered with NFC and has the capability of Wi-Fi connect; however, there is still no sign of 3G or 4G capability of the device.
In conclusion, Google Nexus 10 is a treat including performance, battery, camera and software. For those who are looking for a device with an expandable memory may like to prefer some other brand.
