Will the Nexus 7 Affect Asus Tablets?

You see a lot of people advertising to sell iPad. It's usually for various reasons, but more commonly it is because they need the cash or because they want to change or switch to another brand. With so many models of tablet PCs coming out every month, you cannot help but want to change devices every so often, especially when you see a new one with better specs, functions, and features. The newly-released Nexus 7 is said to be a contender in the on-going tablet PC wars. Does it merit the attention of tablet PC users hankering for a better, slicker gadget?
Nexus 7 belongs to the category of 7-inch tablet PCs. Since the Nexus 7 is small, it is relatively lightweight at 12 ounces. Holding it for long periods of time will not be a problem at all. It is also so small that you don't need a bag to carry it with you, as it will fit perfectly in your coat pocket. The modest $199 price tag for the 8 GB model is sure to attract a lot of customers.
You can be sure of its build quality because an NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor running the Android 4.1 operating system powers it. This means that the unit should be snappy when it comes to executing commands, and in turn, means that playing games and using other applications will be enjoyable.

The Nexus 7 will clearly affect the sales of existing Asus products because of the low price tag. It will also be a strong competitor for the other low priced tablet PCs. A good number of people have already tried to sell iPad and switch to Nexus since it was released mid-July. Since it carries the Google brand, which is well-known, people will not have a hard time trusting the quality compared to the other tablet PCs whose brand are not yet known. Google has actually partnered with Asus in producing this tablet, so Asus can market it as their own mini version of their existing line of tablets, which are all in the 10-inch category.

The Asus Transformer and Slider tablet PC lines are all known for their sleekness, not to mention their multi-functionality. That is because all Asus tablets have an optional keyboard that can be latched into the tablet, making the device look like a slimmer notebook PC. Since they have keyboards, they can be readily used for word processing, something that can be a bit difficult with other tablets like the iPad that do not have a built-in keyboard and are more reliant on the touch screen keypad option.
Unofficial figures have reported that sales for the Nexus 7 have been brisk for its week of sales. If you are thinking of giving Google's gadget a try, you should go to the stores that sell iPad. They will be sure to carry this item as it is looking to be a sure fire hit for consumers.
